Great product, easy installation, don''t forget the fuse if it doesn''t work at first.

My father''s faithful 2006 Ford Expedition started to have some minor bucking, but then seemed to go away. I am the back-yard mechanic who takes care of his oil changes and such. I already replaced the plugs at 100k miles (using the hot engine, impact wrench method which works great by the way), so I knew it was not the plugs. Perhaps it was the coils, now at 126k I suppose they would be reasonable to need replacement now. But after a couple of days later, he had the engine shut off while driving, he had it towed to my house using his AAA card.

Replacing the fuel pump driver module was pretty easy for me, just lower the spare tire, find the module mounted on the driver''s side frame, unbolt from outside of the frame, squeeze release of plug, pull plug, wiggle old unit out. Old unit had perforation of metal backing. I pried into the perforation with a screw driver to see how bad things were. The backing gave way and the circuit board had obvious damage and smelled badly.

I put the new unit in place using the double-sided studs that came with it instead of the rubber bushings and bolts since I didn''t think i could hold the bushings in place. I plugged it in, then with a big smile on my face went to start it up getting ready to hear the vroom. But, no vroom. It did not start. WHY?!

After pacing back and forth up and down the driveway about 2 or 3 times (okay, maybe 10), I decided to check the fuses, maybe there were a fuse for the fuel pump that blew. Yep, #12 which is a 15A fuse. Now it made sense, the module got water in it, shorted, the fuse blew. Just changing the module was just half of the problem. The other half of the job is the fuse. Not a big deal mind you, but just needed to be done. I found the fuse panel to the right of the passenger seat floor on the side.

Knowing all of that, I now could have done the whole job in about 30 minutes or less. But that fuse thing threw me for awhile. Of course now it makes sense in hindsight.

Truck is great again - the only things it has needed so far were the plugs at 100k and a rear-end pinion seal which was also pretty easy.

Not bad for 126k miles.

I got this to replace the stock Fuel Pump Driver Module as I I''m having issues with vehicle staling and thought this would fix my issue on my 11-year-old F-150.

It didn''t fix my issue, I didn''t have much rust or but rather superficial corrosion if that on stock FPDM, and surrounding metals in undercarriage area. My issue was a simple relay that was going bad.

After install, started vehicle right up and I think I did notice a bit quicker response at start. Solid hardware was included for two different positions, instructions included, nicely packaged, good product feel.

I''m glad I got this, it is peace of mind in the long term and I shouldn''t have the corrosion issue the stock ones did. Ford should have issued recall for this.

This was an instant fix for my 2006 f-150 thatwould not run properly. You could tell it wanted to start but was not receving the fuel. If you buy an OBD port scanner, it will come up as p1091 I believe and in the code book that is described s a Fuel Rail pressure sensor CKT/performance. At first I thought it was a sensor under my hood but it turned out to be right above where your spare tire sits near your rear axle. The tool to remove your spare tire (or lower it down) is located behind the passenger seat in the trucks wall interior, hidded by a pop out molding of plastic . At least thats how it is in my 2006 f-150 sport cab, it could be located somewhere else in your cab and is broken down into 3 or 4 pieces. You will need to take the hook attachment and work it thru the bar with a square hole in the center. then click the other 2 or 3 into line. You will need your key to remove the keylock protecting your spare tire tool entry from theft. Mine was completely corroded over, and my key would not work. I ended up prying it off with a hammer with virtually no efort. If you do not remove this keylock, your tool will not be able to enter the shaft at the right angle and you will not be able to get your spare down. Once you feel it click into place, it should just slowly lower down like any other hand crank winch system. I lowered mine completely to the floor and leaned on it while installing the fuel pump module, instead''ve removing it completely to save time. Be patient and gently rock the wire connection free. remove old module, install new. Should start right up, also check your fuse is not burnt out for the module in your fuse panel by your steering wheel or passenger dash area( if you have any trouble starting.). check your obd scanner and make sure there are nor other pending faulty codes that need fixing, it worked great for me, easy fix that a repair shop would charge 3-500

I had the ‘starter runs but doesn’t start’ thing going on. I found the fuse baked, but not blown. Replacing the fuse relieved my starting issue, but if this was pulling that much current it was time to replace it. Remove the connectors while it’s still bolted on. I used Craig’s DeOxit in my connectors, and Dielectric electronics grease when installing. So all my pins, which looked fine, have deoxit on them, and the connectors are installed wet with the grease. This sits on top of a rear frame forward and left of the spare. Drop your spare tire and you have all the access you need. This also gets plenty wet, that’s why I installed it as I described.

This module is very easy to install. It fixed my 2005 Ford Escape that was not turning on.

Ford''s implementation of this module on the 2005 Ford Escape was probably an afterthought, if not just plain stupid. The module sits on the chassis and it rusts very quickly. Mine fell of the chassis because of the rust and was hanging all over the place just holding on to the connection socket. This caused the connection to be loose and so the car would shut off and then not turn on. It wasn''t until I paid a mechanic that I figured out the problem at the same time he did. I could have saved that money first by simply plugging the module by myself and securing it with some new screws.

I still decided to just buy a new module in case the life span of the old one was compromised from riding along hanging, as it probably hit the tire at least once.

Both Dorman''s web site and Amazon indicated this was a match for 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid.

I wasn''t dealing with corrosion and cracking of the FPDM since Ford adjusted how it is mounted to avoid contacting steel to back of module (aluminum). However, symptoms (revving in reverse, infrequent stumbling on acceleration) led me to this as a possible fuel pressure issue that''s cheaper and easier to deal with than the fuel pump. All other more obvious items (MAF sensor, 0xygen sensors, coils, throttle body, fuel pressure sensor) already replaced.

I made the mistake of removing the old module and then going through the hassle of installing the Dorman (which is MADE IN USA...thank you). Should have tested the new unit while it dangled unattached to mounts. Ford gives little room to work with brake/AC lines running right below it and they decided to use T27 bolts...yikes.

Start the vehicle, quickly craps out--dash lights like a pinball machine. Try again, same result. Double-checked Inertia Fuel Switch....no issue. Removed FPDM connector and plugged it back into original Ford FPDM (left it dangling unmounted). Escape starts up fine and stays running.

Dorman''s tech support is US-based, easy to reach with little/no wait time and were friendly -- confirmed there''s no programming to complete (plug-n-play). Either there''s a compatibility issue or a defect. I believe it''s a compatibility issue with my model since almost all reviews seem to be related to F150 models.

Regardless, returned to Amazon in ''like new'' condition. For those worried about knock-offs....ensure you buy the unit SOLD BY & SHIPPED BY Amazon. You won''t have to worry about a knock-off that could come with saving $10.

Well made, good support earns 4-stars in my book. Minus 1-star for compatibility issue (or possible defect).

The new part is of high quality and comes with rubber spacers. Also please note it comes with new bolts, but they are larger than the original. Thread pattern is the same and I recommend using anti seize. It also comes with an alternate set of hardware, I believe it''s for Ford Expeditions, but not 100% sure. Overall, I highly recommend this part. Even if yours isn''t currently malfunctioning, it''s a good precautionary measure to replace.

Had no money to tow it sadly so left it over night then pulled it home behind my dad''s Chevy. Read some things online and saw that the Fuel Pump Driver gets rusted out and will not work. This part came in 3 days we plugged it in and it worked perfect. Truck started right up after sitting for 3 days. if you have a 2004 to 2008 f150 get this part.. we didn''t have a spare tire so we didn''t have to remove anything. Took 2 min to remove, and 2 min to install. Worth it to go buy this before you have any issues at all.. ours didn''t even look that rusted or corroded at all like some others.... I would totally buy this before you have any issues .. I now wish I bought a Chevy lol.. only had my Ford for 2 weeks!!

Update: a week later still running great
